What is a typing test?

Verify the accuracy and timing of the input characters and generate test results.Your test results contain: the number of words you can type per minute, called WPM or words per minute, the number of errors you made in the text, and finally the number of words per minute adjusted, which requires noting any errors you made while typing.

How to improve your typing speed?

Typing is a skill that requires proficiency, which means that in order to get better, you need to practice not only every day, but also with proper technique.
Get your fingers on the right keys, get into the habit of typing with the right format, and challenge yourself in areas you find difficult.

How to analyze test results?

Test results are measured by:
1. The number of words you can type per minute, known as WPM or words per minute, and one "word" is equivalent to five keystrokes. The WPM value is calculated based on the duration of the test completion.
2. You entered the wrong number of times and backspaces.
3. The accuracy is calculated as a percentage based on the number of words entered, not all remaining untyped words.

What is the custom typing test?

The custom typing test lets you control the practice text and typing behavior. It is useful for training specific vocabulary, code-like words, study notes, difficult phrases, or any passage you want to type repeatedly. This mode supports focused practice beyond random typing prompts.

How to use the custom typing test

Select the test duration, choose whether backspace and automatic spacing are allowed, then use Custom text to enter your own passage. Press Start typing test and type the text in order. This is the best mode when you want a typing test based on your own content instead of a random article.

How custom typing test results are calculated

Custom test results use the same typing metrics as the standard test: WPM, CPM, KPM, accuracy, time, backspaces, correct characters, mistakes, missed characters, and entered characters. Because the source text is controlled by you, the result is especially useful for comparing practice sessions on the same passage.
