How the typing game works

Words fall from the top of the stage. Type the full word to remove it, earn points, and protect your lives.

What is the Typing Game?

The Typing Game is an online falling word typing practice tool. Words appear in the play area and move downward. Your goal is to type each word before it reaches the bottom. This format trains typing speed, visual focus, word recognition, keyboard confidence, and reaction time in a more game-like way than a standard typing test.

How to use the Typing Game

Choose a duration, word density, and fall speed, then press Start Game. Click the game area or the input box and type the visible word exactly as it appears. A correct word disappears and adds to your score. If a word reaches the bottom, it counts as missed and costs a life. The game ends when time runs out or all lives are lost.

How Typing Game results are calculated

After the game ends, the results page summarizes your typing performance. WPM is calculated from correct characters divided by five and normalized per minute. CPM is correct characters per minute. KPM is entered keystrokes per minute. Accuracy is based on correct typed characters compared with entered characters. Missed words are counted as missed characters, so both speed and control matter.

Best way to practice with the Typing Game

Start with medium density and normal fall speed, then increase one setting at a time. Use short sessions for reaction training and longer sessions for endurance. For better results, keep your eyes on the play area, avoid looking at the keyboard, and focus on typing clean words rather than rushing through errors.

Typing Game FAQ

Does the game measure WPM?

Yes. The final result stores WPM, CPM, KPM, accuracy, correct characters, missed characters, and total time so you can compare game sessions with other typing practice modes.

What settings should beginners use?

Beginners should use a short or medium duration, low word density, and slow fall speed. Increase density first when you feel comfortable, then increase fall speed.

Why does the game get harder over time?

The game gradually increases word pressure and fall speed to train focus under changing conditions. This helps build real typing resilience instead of only practicing at one fixed pace.
